Developing people for health and healthcare, helping people have a better day

About Us

Manaakitanga, is the very first “Organisation exclusively for all Health Care Assistants” it is a social enterprise with a Big Vision! Promising as we grow in memberships we will be able to give back all profit to initiatives that benefit its members and their communities! It’s time all Health Care Assistants in Nz come together collectively and become financially invested as a founding member of Manaakitanga.

We need you to join as well as supporting and encouraging future members to help grow the Manaakitanga platform. As membership support increases so do many opportunities of development in the caregivers industry, where once upon a time would have never been considered possible.

As our members increase so does the value of our voice in helping plan the future of healthcare in NZ. High membership numbers will also make it possible to offer educational scholarships, international placement scholarships as well as community support, and national conferences.

“Developing People for Health and Healthcare / Helping People have a better Day”.

Who we help

Our target market is all Healthcare workers, sometimes called caregivers HCAs, support workers. That a platform of this size in NZ can offer them numerous benefits, from just feeling supported by people working in the same industry.

Being recognised and feeling respected as a qualified registered health professional. How working with other education and skills agencies a framework can be developed to further develop our group of registered members to be seen as specialised in their field of work eg: aged care, mental health, nurse aid.

Our Philosophy

Manaakitanga will start as a small group with a humanistic approach to developing values based policies and procedures that focus on how we as individuals can work together to become an organisation that offers career opportunities and can develop a national framework as well a collectively embrace ethical standards that becomes the foundation of the organisation we become. We will start with advertising on social media platforms, we will make our own videos that will go on our webpage.

We hope that encouragement of support for Health Care Assistants will come via Te Whatu Ora of registrations from Caregivers, Healthcare workers and support workers, employers, health agencies and the Government. Growth will occur through more people becoming registered members. Our hope is that the government will realise the potential benefits of having an organisation of this size for registered healthcare workers is exactly what they need to meet the current and upcoming healthcare challenges
